At Home
Things have been so silent here because things have been really quiet around my house.
I've had some creepy, crawly flu bug, and all I've done, pretty much, is drag myself from bed to couch and back again. I think I've watched more tv in the past week than I've seen in the past 3 months.
I'm feeling a tad perkier, but I'm still shaky.
And those red houses up there? For years I've had this desire to have a red and white school house quilt to hang in the stairwell in December. Don't ask me why, but I just like this simple traditional pattern. I've been collecting red and white prints for a few years now, and over thanksgiving weekend I figured I'd give it a start. It's another mindless sit-at-the-machine and sew sort of thing, for that little energy I've had.
Okay. That's my endurance for the morning...back to the couch for me with a up of hot tea.

Get well, soon
ReplyDeleteawww :( I'd been wondering where you were. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOK, get better - I am coming to Santa Rosa next week-end and I would like to see you without no stinkin flu bug. That is an order.
ReplyDeleteLove those red and white houses!
ReplyDeleteI like this very much--great for Christmas, just a little different.
ReplyDeleteI love your red and white houses. That reminds me that I have some 3" blocks of red and white houses stashed somewhere! I started the project as a housewarming gift for some friends of mine when they were househunting, but instead of their buying a house, they broke up, and that sort of put me off the whole project. Hm, maybe it's time to dig it out again...
ReplyDeleteI am behind in reading posts, so I am hoping you are all back to normal now, and not feeling shaky from the bug. If you aren't, you should see a doctor.
ReplyDeleteThose house blocks are adorable, and very smart of you to change methods if the first ones didn't work for you.
I agree that the package should include full disclosure, but I wouldn't even have thought to check the fine print, assuming it was all piecing.
I hope you are feeling better by now, Diane. I adore red and white schoolhouse quilts. I made my son a red, white, and black schoolhouse quilt out of cowboy fabrics when he was in 2nd grade. He's a junior in college and still has the quilt in his room.
