Saying Goodbye

Gemma was just the cutest pup in the world.

She loved adventure -- a good run, a lot of sniffing.

She was always up for a trip to the dog park.

She loved having friends over

And of course she loved a good game of "lick the kid"

She made us laugh.

She wasn't afraid to be silly, and she loved a good party.

But she had her quiet, dignified moments too.
She was a sweet, constant, loving companion.

It's so hard to let a beloved companion go.

But it was time, and it's what we have to do when we take on the responsibility
of having animals in our lives.

But all that love?  It's still here.

  1. Your post reminds me a lot of our labrador, Lucy, who we had to have put down in the Summer. I can see Gemma was a beautiful dog and your post and photos are a lovely tribute. Hugs :)

  2. Oh Diane, my heart is with you and Caroline. I am thankful that I got to meet her friendly, tail-wagging self. Sweet girl.

  3. What a lovely photo tribute to your beloved Gemma. Why can't we keep our furry friends forever. It hurts so much to lose them---sad---I hope you and Caroline feel better soon. (hugs)

  4. Our Boxer Oscar has been gone 6 years and we still hear him wandering around the house at night. Sorry for your's and Caroline's loss

  5. What a lovely tribute to sweet Gemma... hugs to you and Caroline.

  6. That last photo was so precious.

  7. A lovely goodbye for Gemma ♥

  8. A lovely memorial, Diane. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  9. Hi Diane, Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comment. I found I couldn't email to reply as your contact shows up as "". I thought I'd let you know in case you didn't realise, Janine :)
